The Art of Aromatherapy

Holistic Approach to Health & Wellness

Aromatherapy is treatment with concentrated, powerful fragrances taken from plants, flowers and trees for application to the BODY, MIND and SPIRIT.

 Aromatherapy offers us an enormous contribution to revitalize the whole body function, as the essential oils work on all conscious levels simultaneously.

Aromatherapy cannot be defined as having a singular purpose. The Art of Aromatherapy is an extra ordinary art that integrates nature, science and spirit creating a delicate balance which empowers the individual with tools that can be used simply giving deep results.

Conforming with the laws of nature, the principle of Aromatherapy is to strengthen the self- healing process through intensive stimulation of the immune system and by gently interfacing with the nervous system. The advances of sophisticated scientific research and the wisdom of wholistic practices provide excellent clean living solutions.

 SKIN: The skin is the largest organ of the body and performs many vital functions;

  • protection

  • heat regulation

  • excretion

  • secretion

  • absorption

  • sensation

The skin is elastic, resistant and under normal conditions, renews itself. It functions as a protective covering for the body, preventing the entry of microorganisms and other harmful substances.

Sensory nerve fibers in the skin react to five separate and basic sensations

 pressure, touch, temperature and pain. Every inch of skin contains millions of cells, an intricate network of blood vessels and nerves. In addition, the skin also contains pores that are the opening for hair follicles, sebaceous glands and sweat glands. The sebaceous glands produce sebum(oil) that lubricate the skin.

Blood and lymph supply nourishment to the skin. From1/2 to 2/3 of the total blood supply of the body is distributed to the skin.

More than 10% of life-supporting oxygen is received through the skin. Emotions be it joy or anger, sorrow or nerviousness are mirrored on the skin. The type of skin a person may have can be influenced by a variety of factors, such as, heredity or environment. Essential oils play a vital role in aromatherapy for skincare.
